Blacksmithing Guide

Blacksmithing 1 to 300

1 - 25
Rough Sharpening Stones (1 x Rough Stone) x 50

25 - 45
Rough Grinding Stones (2 x Rough Stone) x 20

45 - 75
Copper Chain Belt (6 x Copper Bar) x 30

75 - 80
Coarse Grinding Stones (2 x Coarse Stones) x 10

80 - 100
Runed Copper Belt (10 x Copper Bar) x 20

100 - 105
Silver Rod (1 x Silver Bar, 2 x Rough Grinding Stone) x 5

105 - 125
Rough Bronze Leggings (6 x Bronze Bar) x 20

125 - 150
Heavy Grinding Stone (3 x Heavy Stone) x 50

150 - 155
Golden Rod (1 x Gold Bar, 2 x Coarse Grinding Stone) x 5

155 - 165
Green Iron Leggings (8 x Iron Bar, 1 x Heavy Grinding Stone, 1 x Green Dye) x 10

165 - 185
Green Iron Bracers (6 x Iron Bar, 1 x Green Dye) x 20

185 - 200
Golden Scale Bracers (5 x Steel Bar, 2 x Heavy Grinding Stone) x 15

200 - 210
Solid Grinding Stone (4 x Solid Stone) x 20

Now would be a good time to start the Mithril Order quest chain if your a completist. You'll also get a few skill up points by doing it, but the amount of Mithril needed to complete the chain is annoying.
See http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=13121383&pageNo=1&sid=1#3 for a walk through.

210 - 215
Golden Scale Bracers (5 x Steel Bar, 2 x Heavy Grinding Stone) x 5

215 - 235
Steel Plate Helm (14 x Steel Bar, 1 x Solid Grinding Stone) x 20

Alternatively, you could go and buy the plans for Mithril Scale Bracers from either Gharash in Stonard, Swamp of Sorrows or from Harggan in Aeries Peak, The Hinterlands. It's a limited supply recipe, so you may have to try a few times. It works out cheaper to make these than Steel Plate Helms.

235 - 250
Mithril Coif (10 x Mithril Bar, 6 x Mageweave Cloth) x 15
If your lucky enough to get the Mithril Spurs plans, then make those till they turn grey at 275. It's by far the cheapest way to level. Unfortunately the plans are now selling for anywhere up to 300g since TBC was released.

250 - 260
Dense Sharpening Stones (1 x Dense Stone) x 20

260 - 270
Armoursmiths make the following:
Earthforged Leggings (16 x Mithril Bar, 2 x Core of Earth) x 10

Weaponsmiths make any of the following:
Light Earthforged Blade (12 x Mithril Bar, 4 x Core of Earth) x 10
Light Emberforged Hammer (12 x Mithril Bar, 4 x Heart of Fire) x 10
Light Skyforged Axe (12 x Mithril Bar, 4 x Breath of Wind) x 10

Whilst your grinding for the mats for the 260-270 part, keep an eye on the AH for either the Thorium Belt or Bracers plans. As these are much, much easier and cheaper to make

270 - 295
Imperial Plate Bracers (12 x Thorium Bar) x 25

295 - 300
Imperial Plate Boots (18 x Thorium Bar) x 5

Approximate Materials Required

90 x Rough Stone
380 x Copper Bar
20 x Coarse Stone
5 x Silver Bar
120 x Bronze Bar
150 x Heavy Stone
5 x Gold Bar

380 x Steel Bar
80 x Solid Stone
310 x Mithril Bar (270 if your a Weaponsmith)
20 x Dense Stone
390 x Thorium Bar
20 x Core of Earth (if your a Weaponsmith then it will be 40 x Core of Earth or 40 x Heart of Fire or 40 x Breath of Wind or a combination of the three)
